ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — An attempted hijacking of a trash truck occurred in Ross County, authorities say. The incident happened Wednesday morning along Debord Road.
A call to 9-1-1 dispatch said that someone was trying to steal a Rumpke trash truck, according to the Ross County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies arrived on the scene and met with two employees. According to reports, an unidentified Hispanic man attempted to take the truck while one of the employees was picking up trash.
Video footage from the truck was taken as evidence in an effort to identify the suspect, officials said.
The incident remains under investigation and no further details were immediately released.
