MENLO PARK, California — Facebook users across the country are receiving error messages where their newsfeed should be.
According to the website, Downdetector, users began seeing problems with the popular social media site around 11:30 a.m. Monday.
Officials say the outage is not an isolated event. Facebook, Whatsapp, Instagram, and Facebook Messenger are all experiencing technical problems.
Facebook took to Twitter Monday afternoon and issued the following statement, “We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing our apps and products. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience.
The cause of the massive outage was not immediately released. Representatives from the social media conglomerate did not say how long the outage would last or when services would be back up and running.
