JACKSON COUNTY, Ohio — A Jackson man is facing multiple charges after Jackson County Sheriff Deputies found him under the influence of drugs while shooting at his grandparent’s residence on route 93, Wellston, Friday night.
Reports said deputies arrived at the residence after a caller said that 37-year-old Aaron Jones had a gun and was shooting it.
After arriving at the residence, deputies said they spoke to a woman who said Jones had been acting erratic and was angry because she refused to give him the keys to her car.
The woman told deputies that Jones had been outside shooting into the air with a shotgun.
Authorities say the shotgun, which had a high-capacity magazine was seized.
Once deputies detained Jones, reports say, a Glock 9mm handgun was found on his person. A small baggie with a white substance was also located in his pocket, officials said.
While detained, deputies said, a taser had to be used on Jones. One deputy stated that he was trying to kick doors open. “ He kicked and banged his head so hard that he bent the inside cage of a cruiser”, said the deputy on scene.
Jones, law enforcement said remained combative while in custody. He was taken to Holzer and later to Grant Medical Center for bleeding on his brain.
The case has been forwarded to the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office for possible charges of vandalism, using weapons while intoxicated, resisting arrest, assault, and obstructing official business.
