FRANKFORT, Ohio — A threat toward a local school district has been ruled not credible.

Adena Local School District sent an email to parents Wednesday evening stating that the threat was made online by “an anonymous account.” The school district did not go into detail what the threat said, however, the Ross County Sheriff’s Office is investigating. According to the school, the threat was posted on Facebook on a page known as “Adena Meme.”

“Deputies have been investigating and tracing the threat and found it not credible,” the email read. “Out of an abundance of caution, we will have deputies on site (Thursday) to be absolutely sure we are prepared should something seem out of the norm.”

Parents posted online they were still concerned despite the school’s efforts to dispel the threat.

“I got it, but no explanation,” said parent Mallory Sanford.

School will resume as scheduled Thursday morning.
