CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Ross County Historical Society invites the public to celebrate the holidays at its Christmas Open House Saturday, December 11, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Ross County Heritage Center, 45 West Fifth Street, Chillicothe.
Features will include a beautiful, one-of-a-kind Christmas tree decorated with hundreds of hand-cut paper ornaments by local artist Bonnie Grove; a charming Victorian Christmas parlor with late 19th & early 20th century holiday decorations and toys; and other exhibits including “Toys from the Attic,” and “Chillicothe’s Model Railroad.” New this year will be a special exhibit on Ross County Samplers & Needlework from the historical society’s textile collections.
Enjoy traditional holiday dulcimer music and browse the Museum Store for special holiday gifts including many books and other hard-to-find publications on local and regional history for those history buffs on your shopping list. Melody Lapczynski, author of The Carlisle: The History and Renovationand Lynn Carden, author of The Women of Robertson Place will be on had to sign copies of their recently published award-winning books.
