ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — A mother called the police after she learned that her 10-year-old child was assaulted with a taser by an older teenager.

Deputies with the Ross County Sheriff’s Office responded Thursday to a residence on Stone Road.

According to reports, a mother learned that her 10-year-old child had been assaulted by a 16-year-old with a taser. The victim’s mother told law enforcement that her child was allowed to go to their cousin’s house to play video games. While there, reports say, a 16-year-old teen who was visiting the child’s cousin used a taser on the 10-year-old.

Deputies noted that there were obvious marks on the child, made by the taser. The mother stated that she was told the taser was held to the child for a few seconds.

Union Township EMS responded to the scene to evaluate the young victim. The mother told medics that she did not want her child transported to the hospital.

Ross County deputies said they were collecting witness statements when they were advised that the 16-year-old teen had taken off on foot into a nearby wooded area. Authorities say this case remains under investigation. No further details were immediately released.
