PICKAWAY COUNTY, Ohio — Troopers with the Ohio Highway Patrol were busy Thursday evening following multiple pursuits.
According to reports, troopers were involved in a high-speed chase that stretched across two counties.
It happened around 8:30 p.m.
Law enforcement attempted to stop a vehicle east of Circleville when the driver took off at a high rate of speed. The chase snaked across the Stoutsville area, with troopers attempting to stop the vehicle multiple times with spike strips. The driver, troopers say, was able to avoid the spikes.
The vehicle was eventually stopped near route 188 and route 33 in Fairfield County.
The names of those involved and the reason behind the chase were not immediately released.
Troopers with the Jackson County post of the Ohio Highway Patrol were involved in a dangerous pursuit earlier in the evening on Thursday. Suspects in that pursuit fled from troopers in Jackson County, eventually reaching Ross County before coming to a stop near the exit of route 50 and route 35. Speeds during that chase reached nearly 130 miles per hour, according to law enforcement officials. The occupants of that vehicle were taken into custody without incident.
