ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — A 9-1-1 hangup call leads deputies to a serious domestic violence situation.
It happened on New Year’s Day.
Deputies with the Ross County Sheriff’s Office responded to George Hollow Road after dispatch received a 9-1-1 hang-up call. Deputies believed the call sounded suspicious and responded to the residence where the call originated from.
Upon arrival, reports say, deputies made contact with a male resident who said that his 3-year-old child had accidentally made the 9-1-1 call. Deputies did not believe the man’s story. Officials say the deputies, upon further investigation, determined that a violent physical altercation had taken place.
Authorities say the man then ran from the home, leading law enforcement on a foot pursuit. The suspect managed to get away from the deputies but was later picked up by the Pike County Sheriff’s Office.
Arrested was Zane Roosa. Roosa was charged with abduction, child endangering, obstruction, felonious assault, domestic violence, and failure to comply with the order of a peace officer.
He is currently being held in the Ross County Jail pending arraignment.
