ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — The Ross County Sheriff’s Office released a 9-1-1 call from the occupants of the vehicle involved in a multi-county high-speed pursuit.
The chase happened on December 30, 2021.
According to reports, troopers attempted to stop a vehicle in Jackson County when the driver took off at more than 110 miles per hour. The chase stretched from Jackson to Chillicothe, with speeds during the pursuit reaching nearly 130 at times.
Deputies from Ross County joined in the chase near route 50 with troopers from the patrol and attempted to set up spike strips near Chillicothe. The vehicle eventually came to a stop and the occupants were taken into custody without further incident.
During the chase, the occupants of the fleeing vehicle called 9-1-1 dispatch in order to relay a message to law enforcement that they were preparing to stop.
Those involved in the pursuit face multiple felony charges.
