CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Police in Chillicothe responded to a Brewer Heights home after a man said he was kidnapped and beaten.
It happened Sunday when officers responded to the home and spoke with the victim, who said he had been taken against his will by an unknown person after a night out at the Crosskeys Tavern on East Main Street.
The victim told police that he walked outside the bar to smoke a cigarette when he was attacked and thrown into a vehicle. The victim went on to tell police that “he was taken to a residence on North High Street, where his kidnappers began assaulting him.” The victim, police say, did not recognize his attackers “due to being blindfolded.
In a statement provided to police, the victim said the “kidnappers left him tied with his hands behind his back on the rear porch of the residence.” Reports state the man could not provide a specific location to law enforcement.
When asked how he got away, the victim said he “was able to get his hands free, untie the rope, and then escape,” reports read. He went on to tell officers that he “jumped a six-foot privacy fence before running toward Allen Avenue.” The man said he was able to contact a friend who picked him up and drove him home.
Officials say pictures were taken of the victim, who had cuts and bruises on his face, hands, and legs. No suspects have been named in this incident and no arrests have been made.
The case remains under investigation.
