CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — A Columbus man is behind bars this morning in Pickaway County after police say he stabbed his parents.

It happened early Thursday morning at 313 South Court Street in Circleville.

Police said a 9-1-1 call came in from the home of Dr. Kenneth Laux that two people were stabbed. Laux is a local chiropractor in Pickaway County at Circleville Chiropractic Center.

Once officers arrived at the home they found Henry J. Laux, 27, inside the kitchen. He was quickly arrested after being identified as the suspect. His father — Dr. Laux — and mother, Teresa Laux were found with stab wounds. The two victims were taken to Columbus area hospitals.

Henry J. Laux has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, aggravated robbery, and aggravated burglary and he was taken to the Pickaway County Jail.

During an arraignment Thursday morning, Henry pleaded not guilty on all charges. In the same hearing, Circleville police detectives were in the courtroom and testified that the man had a plan to kill others.

“My concern is he is a flight risk (if given bond),” said detective Jon Farrelly. “He had a plan on leaving town. He had no ID and only $600. He had plans to harm other family members if he was successful with (killing his parents).”

Circleville Municipal Court Judge Elisa Peters set Laux’s bond at $2 million, along with conditions he stay away from his parents and other family members if he gets out of jail.

Dr. Kenneth Laux runs Circleville Chiropractic Center on Lancaster Pike. He is a second generation chiropractor. According to his website, the doctor enjoys being heavily involved with his community as a Rotary member, active member of Circleville First Baptist Church, and involvement with numerous other organization and activities.

Dr. Laux and his wife’s condition were not immediately known Thursday morning.
