CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A Chillicothe man was arrested after deputies say he nearly rammed their cruiser.

The incident happened around 10 p.m. on Saturday.

Kane Gillum, 23, Chillicothe was exiting route 35 at the intersection of Pleasant Valley Road and Eygpt Pike when he ran a red light, nearly hitting a Ross County deputy head-on, reports said.

The deputy, reports say, then initiated a traffic stop. Upon approaching the driver, the deputy noticed a gun in plain view. Additional units were requested to the scene to assist.

Upon a search of Gillum’s car, multiple drug abuse instruments and other paraphernalia were found, as well, deputies said.

Gillum was arrested on the scene and was transported to the Ross County Jail. He remains in custody pending arraignment.
