JACKSON COUNTY, Ohio — Jackson police made a major drug bust after executing a search warrant.
According to Jackson Police Chief Brett Hinsch, officers with the department seized a large quantity of the dangerous synthetic opiate, fentanyl.
Police say on Tuesday that officers executed a raid at the Red Roof Inn on Acy Avenue in Jackson. According to reports, police raided the room of George H. Fisher III, of Albany, Ohio.
During the raid, police found nearly $25,000 worth of fentanyl, along with methamphetamine, money, pills, paraphernalia, and other items indicative of drug trafficking.
Fisher, officials say, has been charged with felony aggravated trafficking in drugs. He remains in custody at the Jackson County Correctional Facility.
Jackson County Prosecutor Justin Lovett says additional charges are possible pending further case review.
