ROSS COUNTY, Ohio— The Ross County Sheriff’s Office and troopers from the Ohio Highway Patrol were involved in a burglary investigation Tuesday evening in Ross County.
Initially, deputies were dispatched to a residence on County Road 550 after a homeowner caught two burglars breaking into a home. According to the property owner, the suspects fled the scene after firing shots at the resident.
The suspects then, according to reports, fled into a nearby wooded area.
A few minutes later, the sheriff’s office and troopers located the suspects in a vehicle along County Road 550.

A total of five individuals, troopers say, were detained, and two were arrested and charged with multiple felonies in connection with the burglary.
Arrested at the scene were 34-year-old Brandon Stodgel and 33-year-old Caitlin Ratliff. The two were both transported to the Ross County Jail.
