FAYETTE COUNTY, Ohio — A car hauler loaded with brand new Toyota vehicles hit a bridge Saturday evening.
It happened at around 6 p.m. in Washington Court House along U.S. 35 at route 62. The transporter was driving westbound when a Toyota Camry on the top deck was peeled back by the overpass bridge of Leesburg Avenue.
No injuries were reported, but the Camry was destroyed. Other vehicles on the trailer were damaged by debris.
“The FCSO, WFD and ODOT responded to the scene for clean up and structural assessment of the overpass,” Sheriff Vernon P. Stanforth told the Guardian. The Sheriff said after a review of the bridge, the structure was not damaged.
Part of route 35 was shutdown as crews cleaned up the scene.
