CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A former nurse with Adena Health Systems is under criminal investigation.
The State of Ohio Board of Nursing contacted the Ross County Sheriff’s Office regarding the theft of medication.
Reports say the nurse removed the drugs from the Pyxis System for personal use on multiple occasions in September of last year.

According to the manufacturer’s website, Pyxis is an automated medication dispensing system.
Jason Gilham, a spokesperson for the hospital, told the Guardian, “Adena has fully cooperated with local law enforcement and the Ohio Board of Nursing. This individual is no longer with the Heath System.”
The case remains under investigation.
Additional details, including the name of the former nurse, were not immediately released by officials.
I worked at Adena for 40+ years. This is not the first time drugs were stolen and will probably not be the last.
