WAVERLY, Ohio — Two Pike County men have been charged in connection with multiple thefts of copper and catalytic converters.
According to the Waverly Police Department, officers responded to the Waverly Rent-2-Own on March 9 for a catalytic converter theft. Later that same day, police were called to Lloyd’s Pizzeria for the theft of copper from an air conditioning unit.
Reports say officers were able to analyze surveillance footage that showed two suspects committing the thefts. One suspect, police say, was identified as Bobby Wisecup.
Police responded to Wisecup’s last known address at the Waverly Trailer Park. It was there that police located the second suspect, identified as Jon Lucas. Both men, according to Chief of Police John Winfield, confessed to the thefts.
Located at the residence were several saws, cut copper, and two catalytic converters. Also found was a jacket resembling the one police saw in surveillance footage.
The two men, officials say, have been charged with felony theft, vandalism, and possession of criminal tools.
