CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A massive police presence descended upon a home in Chillicothe’s south end on Friday evening.
A call came in around 8:30 p.m. of people being held hostage in the home in the 100 block of South Walnut Street, initial reports said.
The Chillicothe Police Department, along with deputies from the Sheriff’s office responded to the scene and blocked off the areas.
9-1-1 dispatch told responding officers that the suspect had fired a gun inside the home. That’s when officers and deputies surrounded the house with large guns and spotlights.
Shortly after 9 p.m., law enforcement officers made entry into the house and took four people into custody, including a pregnant woman. It’s unknown how many were suspects and how many were alleged hostages.
Authorities said the incident remains under investigation. No further details — including the names of those involved — were immediately released.
