ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — A distressed man brought a highway to a halt in Ross County.
It happened shortly after 6 p.m. on Saturday along route 23.
Troopers said the unidentified man was threatening to jump from the route 207 connector onto route 23.
The Highway Patrol, along with deputies from the Ross County Sheriff’s Office, responded to the scene and closed down the roadway.
Troopers attempted to talk the man down from the ledge overlooking the highway. Eventually, medics from Union Township arrived and were able to negotiate with the man to get into an ambulance.
Troopers said the person became upset and agitated a few times when motorists were going by making gestures.
The man’s name was not released.
