PICKAWAY COUNTY, Ohio — A motorist was arrested in Pickaway County after troopers said they found fentanyl in the vehicle.
According to reports, the Ohio Highway Patrol initiated a traffic stop on a black SUV for speeding.
After a brief investigation, troopers requested a drug-sniffing canine to the scene.
The Circleville Police Departments’ canine unit responded. The dog alerted authorities to the presence of narcotics. Upon searching the vehicle, troopers discovered the deadly drug.
Fentanyl, experts say, is a dangerous synthetic opiate that has been linked to countless overdose deaths.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested at the scene and transported to the Pickaway County Jail.
