CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Another child was found wandering the streets of Chillicothe. This time, police say, it was a 4-year-old.
Officers with the Chillicothe Police Department responded to the area of Fifth and South Paint Street Wednesday after a passer-by said they saw the child running down the middle of the road.
According to police reports, the youngster was found wearing only a pull-up and a t-shirt.
The child, officials say, was unharmed.
The boy was taken to the Ross County Law Complex, where a Children’s Services Investigator met with the officers.
A short time later, reports say, the mother contacted police and said that it was her child that had been found.
The mother told police that the child had unlocked the door of their residence and walked outside. As soon as the mother realized her child was missing, she spoke with neighbors who told her that the authorities had taken him away.
The mother was issued a citation for child endangering.
