CHILLICOTHE, Ohio— The name of the person who lost their life in a fatal crash Monday morning was released by authorities.

According to the Ohio Highway Patrol, Troopers responded to a three-vehicle crash along route 23 near Eastern Avenue in Chillicothe.

Reports say a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox driven by 44-year-old Jaclyn S. Sitnek, of Mansfield, was traveling along route 23 when she lost control of her vehicle, traveling off the right side of the roadway, striking a guardrail. Troopers say the vehicle then traveled back onto the highway and went under a 2017 commercial Mack truck driven by 45-year-old Randy Parmely. Both vehicles then traveled off the left side of the highway.

A 2017 Town and Country van driven by Leon Flinders, 81, of Piketon, was struck by debris from the crash.

Jaclyn Sitnek was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer, Randy Parmely was transported to Adena Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. Two other passengers of Sitnek were also transported to the hospital including an infant that was later taken to Nationwide’s Children’s Hospital in Columbus.

The crash officials say remains under investigation. Route 23 was shut down following the crash.
