ROSS COUNTY, Ohio— The Adena Road bridge in Ross County will remain closed, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.

An emergency repair project is scheduled to begin May 2 on the bridge that covers route 35 near Chillicothe. The bridge was closed on March 29 after officials said the bridge was severely damaged after being struck in an “unreported incident.”

The repairs are expected to take 3–4 weeks to complete. Adena Road will remain closed until the completion of the project. Route 35 westbound will also be reduced to one lane, and the on-ramp from route 104 to route 35 westbound will be closed.

Traffic can detour by taking Orange Street, Piatt Avenue, Buckeye Street, route 104, and Pleasant Valley Road.

Route 35 westbound traffic will be diverted to route 35 eastbound to Bridge Street.
