ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — A Greenfield nurse practitioner pled guilty to theft on Friday. Charley Roman, who served as school board president for the Greenfield Exempted Village School District, was indicted last year on felony theft charges stemming from welfare benefits that he was not eligible to receive.
According to the Ross County Prosecutor’s Office, Roman pled guilty to an amended misdemeanor theft charge. He was ordered to pay restitution, a $1,000 fine, and will be on probation for one year.
Assistant Prosecutor Carrie Charles told the Guardian should he violate the terms of his probation he will face up 180 days in jail.
The school district has yet to speak on his conviction.
