JACKSON COUNTY, Ohio — A large-scale search operation was underway in the city of Jackson Friday morning.
Here’s what we know. Officers with the Jackson Police Department attempted to pull over a vehicle shortly after 3:30 a.m. this morning. Reports say the driver then fled from the vehicle on foot in the area of Apple Village Apartments.

An aviation unit from the Ohio Highway Patrol along with additional law enforcement personnel was requested to the area to search for the suspect.
Jackson City Schools Superintendent Phil Howard around 6:12 a.m. first put the district on a two-hour delay citing that “there is a dangerous individual loose in the area.”
Shortly before 8 a.m., the superintendent decided to close the schools. “The manhunt for the dangerous individual in question is still taking place. Make sure to keep your house and vehicles locked today and pay attention to your surroundings if you go outside, ” said Howard.
The JCSD will be closed today. We will also not be doing remote learning today. The manhunt for the dangerous individual in question is still taking place. Make sure to keep your house and vehicles locked today and pay attention to your surroundings if you go outside.
