ATHENS COUNTY, Ohio — On Thursday, agents with the Southeastern Major Crimes Task Force executed an arrest, following what the Athens County Sheriff’s Office callsed a lengthy drug trafficking investigation.
According to Athens County Sheriff Rodney Smith, agents with the task force arrested Crystal and William Goins after receiving a tip that the pair were heading to Dayton and Columbus to purchase a large quantity of narcotics.
Reports say the duo was at a Marathon Gas Station in Albany when agents descended upon the two.
Williams was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit with agents. Crystal Goins was located in the backseat of the vehicle. Both were taken into custody and transported to the Southeastern Regional Jail on active warrants.
The vehicle, a press release said, was seized. Agents received a search warrant for the vehicle and located a large amount of fentanyl, heroin, and methamphetamine inside.
The suspected narcotics were sent to BCI labs for testing.
Sheriff Smith said additional charges could be forthcoming.
