ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — The jury trial begins in the case of DeShawn Nesbitt. Nesbitt is accused of the shooting of a Frankfort man in July of last year.
According to reports, at the time, deputies with medics responded to reports of a shooting on Austin Road.
EMS arrived on the scene and located a 19-year-old man who had been shot in the head.
The man was taken to Adena Regional Medical Center and later airlifted to Grant Hospital in Columbus.
Following the shooting, police say, Nesbit allegedly went on the run before officers with the Chillicothe Police Department executed an arrest warrant at a residence on High Street within the city.
DeShawn Nesbitt faces two counts of felonious assault and having a weapon under disability. If convicted on all counts, Nesbitt could spend nearly 20 years in prison.
