SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio — Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman announced the arrest of a Portsmouth on two counts of rape, permitting drug abuse, and trafficking in drugs.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the Portsmouth Police Department contacted the Sheriff regarding a possible sexual assault. Officials say the alleged victim was transported to Southern Ohio Medical Center for treatment and later to Adena Health System in Waverly for a sexual assault examination.
Reports say detectives conducted interviews, which resulted in the location of a suspect at 2124 8th Street in the city of Portsmouth.
Arrested was George Case Sanderlin, age 45. Sheriff Thoroughman said, during the course of the investigation, it was discovered that Sanderlin was part of a drug trafficking operation.
He was transported to the Scioto County Jail, where he remains in custody on a $120,000 bond.
The case, authorities say, remains under investigation.
