VINTON COUNTY, Ohio — According to the Vinton County Sheriff’s Office, a man is in jail today after attempting to use a gun during an altercation at the Family Dollar in Wilkesville.
The Sheriff’s Office said yesterday, June 2, deputies responded to a call of a received a fight at the Family Dollar involving a firearm.
Reports say 46-year-old Shane Bryant had gotten into a fight with an individual in the store’s parking lot. Bryant drew a pistol but was quickly taken down by bystanders after firing one shot. One of the bystanders, according to authorities, was a licensed CCW card holder who had a firearm with them.
Bryant left the scene before deputies arrived but was later apprehended. He was transported to the hospital for minor injuries and later transported to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail.
