CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Chillicothe Police Department is investigating a reported drive-by shooting that occurred shortly after midnight Saturday morning.
According to initial reports, the shooting occurred in the area of East Main Street and Leggett Avenue in the city’s east end.
The Ross County Sheriff’s Office, along with troopers from the Ohio Highway Patrol, were actively searching for a black GMC Acadia after the shooting, which is believed to have been involved.
Approximately 5-6 rounds were popped off, law enforcement reported, and a nearby house was hit.
The Guardian could not independently confirm if there were any injuries as a result of the shooting, but law enforcement who were already in the area on patrol heard the shots themselves. Law enforcement learned that the SUV was possibly occupied by four “younger males.”
