CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Police in Chillicothe confirmed the identity of the remains found inside an east side garage were those of Larry Davis.

The Guardian broke the story of the discovered remains.

Detectives responded to a residence on Poplar Street Tuesday after they received a call that a decomposed body was inside a large tote. Reports state that family members of the homeowner were there cleaning up the property while one of the residents was incarcerated on unrelated charges. During their cleanup efforts, they opened the tote inside the garage and found remains

Davis was reported missing by family members in March of this year.

Law enforcement launched an all-out search for the man, including using aviation units and dive teams to search the Scioto River around the Chillicothe area. Tips eventually led them to the house on Poplar Street, where detectives searched a garage earlier this summer. Inside, they found Davis’ cell phone and bookbag, but no signs of the missing man himself.
