PIKE COUNTY, Ohio — The Sheriff of Pike County says his deputies have taken thousands of dollars in counterfeit money off the street.

It happened at the Southbound Flea Market this week where a man named Tilden Thompson was “trying to pass counterfeit money,” the Sheriff said.

Deputies went to the flea market on a call for service about the fake bills and found more than $5,800 in funny money in the man’s possession.

Thompson was arrested and charged with criminal stimulation and counterfeit currency.
