CHILLICOTHE, Ohio— A local man underwent surgery this week after allegedly being run over by a City of Chillicothe utility truck.
On Saturday, 30-year-old Reilly McGinnis made a report of the incident to the Chillicothe Police Department. According to the report, the accident occurred on Tuesday near downtown.
McGinnis told police that he was walking in an alley when he was struck by the utility truck, which the report says was a city vehicle.
The alleged victim went on to tell investigators that his girlfriend took him to the hospital, where doctors said he suffered from several fractures in his foot. Pictures of the man posted online showed that he had several broken toes and deformed bones. McGinnis wrote on Facebook that he had to have surgery on his foot to fix the damage.
An investigation is ongoing, police say, into the incident. No further details were available at the time.
