ROSS COUNTY, Ohio —- Charles Meddock was arraigned in a Ross County court today.

Meddock was indicted earlier this month on charges of aggravated trafficking. He is also a person of interest in the recent death of Deric Lansing of Pike County.

On Thursday, August 4, the Pike County Sheriff’s Office was called to the 5000 block of route 220 in Waverly for a suspicious death. The victim, 42-year-old Derrick Lansing, was found deceased inside the residence. A firearm owned by Lansing, officials said, was missing from a gun holster he was wearing as well as a silver Kia Forte sedan.

Charles Meddock was given a $50,000 bond but remains in custody on a parole violation.

Authorities say Lansing’s death remains under investigation.
