CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — On Monday, shortly after 1 a.m., dispatchers received a call of shots fired in the area of East Water and North Brownell Streets. 

According to reports obtained by the Guardian, officers made contact with a witness who stated that a large group of people were in the intersection and appeared to be engaged in an altercation. The man went on to tell police that one of the individuals pulled a handgun and fired at least one shot.

A 9mm shell casing was found at the scene by investigators. No injuries were reported in the incident.

The case remains under investigation.
