NELSONVILLE, Ohio — An explosives removal team is en route to Nelsonville following the discovery of an explosive device inside a vehicle. 

According to city officials, Myers Street between Watkins and Monroe Streets is currently closed until further notice.

Residents are asked to stay clear of the area. 

UPDATE: According to officials, Myers Street between Watkins Street and Monroe Street has reopened. The roadway was closed after what appeared to be a hand grenade was found inside a car.

A Bomb Squad from Franklin County responded and secured the area. The Bomb Squad, reports say, determined that the device found was an “inert training device”.
