SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio — A Scioto County man is in jail today after officers responded to a drug overdose at his home on Monday.
According to Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman, Jay Costelli of Portsmouth has been charged with felony drug possession and drug trafficking.
Following the overdose, the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force obtained a search warrant and raided the residence. Detectives said over 50 grams of suspected fentanyl and over a pound of marijuana were located inside. The sheriff said additional items indicative of drug trafficking were also seized during the raid.
Authorities say the case against Costelli is ongoing. He remains incarcerated at the Scioto County Jail.
