WAVERLY, Ohio — Two people were arrested over the weekend following a traffic stop in Waverly. 

According to the Waverly Police Department, Michael Locher and Kayla Hayslip were taken into custody after the discovery of a large amount of methamphetamine inside their vehicle.  

It happened early Saturday morning shortly after 1 a.m. 

A drug-sniffing canine was brought to the scene and alerted officers of the presence of illegal narcotics. Upon searching the vehicle, police found over 4 ounces of methamphetamine, 15 grams of suspected fentanyl, 5 hits of acid, and related drug paraphernalia. 

Additional charges in this case are pending.
