MISSISSIPPI — Rock pioneer and legend Jerry Lee Lewis has passed away.
The online tabloid, TMZ, erroneously reported Lewis’s death earlier this week and later retracted their posting. According to a representative for the musical pioneer, he died today at his home in Mississippi.
The legendary “Killer,” as nicknamed by fans, began his career in the 1950s. He garnered early fame with hit songs such as “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Going On”, and “Great Balls of Fire.”
According to Zach Farnum, on behalf of the family, Lewis’s seventh wife was by his side during his final days, and he had made peace with the hereafter.
