ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — Law enforcement in Ross County responded to a barricade situation with an armed suspect.
According to initial reports, deputies responded to a residence just south of Chillicothe along Southern Avenue near South Bridge Street Saturday night.
Upon arrival, a male inside the residence barricaded himself. Authorities on the scene told responding units that the man was armed with an AR-15 rifle. Additional assistance was requested from the Ohio Highway Patrol and the Chillicothe Police Department.
Shortly after 9:30 p.m., a female outside the residence was detained. The man was left inside the home and police cleared the area.
His name and the events heading up-to the standoff were not immediately released.
