ATHENS COUNTY, Ohio — An Athens County man will spend the next nine years behind bars.
According to the Athens County Prosecutor’s Office, 33-year-old Mark Barnhart pleaded guilty to multiple felony counts ranging from escape to grand theft auto.
Reports say that Barnhart was engaged in the theft of several motor vehicles over a period of two years.
He was sentenced this week by Judge Crawford and given 8 years for his crimes and an additional year for a parole violation.
In addition, he was ordered by the court to pay more than $2,000 in restitution to his victims.
