CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — According to the police department, officers were dispatched to the BP gas station at 760 North Bridge Street, on Saturday, after an employee called and said a customer had found narcotics in a brown pouch in the parking lot.
Officers responded to the scene and spoke with the employee who said an unknown female customer brought the suspected drugs to the counter. Inside was located a large amount of methamphetamine, a mixture of heroin, crack cocaine, and fentanyl.
Reports say that officers asked the employee to view the security footage from the parking lot. Upon rewinding the video, police discovered the owner of the pouch.
In the official report, officers said, “A maroon Ford Escape pulls into the parking lot and lets a female out at the door. The Escape then pulls to one of the gas pumps where it stays stationary. A few moments later a black, new model convertible Audi pulls into the parking spot where the narcotics were located. A larger built white male then exits the rear passenger door of the Escape and goes to the black Audi. The male is wearing a black coat, black shirt, jeans, and grey backward hat, and has a thick dark-colored but greying beard. The male then speaks with another male who is parked a few spots down in a grey Dodge Challenger with a red racing stripe. The male then gets in the passenger side of the black Audi. As the male closes the door, the pouch can be seen falling through the bottom of the passenger side door. I believe the male had the pouch in his right coat pocket, and it fell when he leaned out to close the car door. The Audi then leaves BP. A tag number could not be gathered from the video, however, it was apparent it had a Pennsylvania license plate.”
One of the vehicles seen in the security footage was found a short distance away, parked along Arch Street. Officers spoke with the occupants who gave the name of the owner of the pouch.
Charges against the individual are pending lab analysis from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations.
