COLUMBUS, Ohio — Governor Mike DeWine wasted no time after taking the oath of office for his second. The governor, within minutes, issued a series of executive orders on a variety of issues.
One order aims to protect nursing mothers from discrimination in the state government workplace, while another establishes a youth mentorship program for state employees.
DeWine has also prohibited the use of certain foreign-owned apps, platforms, and websites on state-owned or leased devices, citing the need to protect Ohio’s cyber security. The move is similar to other state governments that have banned TikTok from state devices.

In addition, the Governor has created the Ohio Mental Health Insurance Office within the Ohio Department of Insurance to ensure compliance with mental health and addiction insurance benefits, as well as to develop best practice standards.
Finally, DeWine has addressed critical education and training needs to support ongoing economic development in Ohio through the creation of a dynamically skilled and purposeful workforce.
