Marcia’s first job was at the Savings Bank at Paint & Main, then at Chilpaco in the Cost Accounting dept from 1956-1963, when she and Tennent moved to Bronxville NY for 1 year. She was employed later at Adkins-Evans Realty and Great Seal Title. She participated in the Follies and Tecumseh, including making costumes, volunteered at the Thrift Shop, and was supportive and proud of all things Chillicothe and Ohio. She took her love and knowledge of her hometown and history with her wherever she went.
Marcia enjoyed Card Club, Bridge Club, Canasta Club, Wine Club, Friday Night Club, and the Chillicothe Country Club. She loved Downtown Chillicothe, including the shops, artists, restaurants, buildings, and the new Light the Park. She was proud to support Junction Earthworks. She grew up a member of the Presbyterian Church, attended St Paul’s Episcopal Church, and loved hearing good lively music anywhere. She loved her family’s sports games, but would go to any local game with Tennent with great pleasure. Listening to music, entertaining friends, driving to see the beautiful Ross County hills, and road tripping with her friends were great joys in her life. She was a talented seamstress and gardener, and a renowned chocolate chip cookie baker, call-sign Tollhouse Mama. Supporting friends and family with food and love was her habit and skill, and her countless friends of all ages are a testament to her warm, giving nature.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Light the Park, Junction Earthworks, or the Humane Society.
The family would like to recognize her doctor Jennifer Mowry-Fisk and staff, and the Hospice services and private caregivers of National Church Residences for helping her achieve a comfortable, meaningful, and dignified death.
