Margaret Louise Fordyce, 86 of Charleston, South Carolina formerly of Waverly, Ohio passed away Friday, January 27th 2023 at her home.
She was born December 26, 1936 in Clark County, Indiana.The daughter of the late Eldon and Flossie Whiteside Bagshaw.
On September 9, 1961 she was united in marriage to Ralph Fordyce who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Teresa Kelly and husband Bill of Charleston and Tina Hixon and husband Greg of Circleville, Ohio; grandchildren, Tara Bishop and husband Hunter of Charleston, Devin Kelly and wife Brigette of Charleston, Christopher Curtis and wife Shirah of Circleville, Grayson Bosel and husband Mac of Cincinnati, and Michelle Chaffin and husband Chuck, of Circleville; great grandchildren, Brodi and Remi Bishop, Sophia, Mila, and Cooper Kelly, Aleah, Brantley, and Presley Curtis, and Kayli, Braxton, Braelynn and Briley Chaffin; and one brother, Raymond and Brenda Bagshaw of Indiana.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her five brothers and two sisters.
Ralph and Maggie moved from Indiana to Waverly, Ohio in 1972 with daughters Teresa and Tina and opened and operated the Kentucky Fried Chicken across from the old Parker Hannifan on US 23. They later moved to the present location when they built the new KFC in 1982. Maggie also worked in real estate in the 1980s for Kear Reality. She was active in the community and in various clubs throughout the year. She always enjoyed her friends in the Barker Lane area supper club. Maggie was an avid supporter of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed attending and cheering them on in athletic and school events. She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Piketon, Ohio where she enjoyed participating in Sunday school.
Ralph and Maggie retired and moved south to Fort Myers Florida in 2000 where she became active in the social club at Palm Island. She was known for her “Themed Parties” and her Bridge Club which she loved. She made many friends in the community until relocating to Charleston, South Carolina in 2021.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
