ALLEN COUNTY, Ohio — Phil Briggs, mayor of Spencerville, Ohio, was arrested on Monday and charged with pandering obscenity involving a minor, according to the Allen County Sheriff’s Office. Mayor Briggs was taken into custody following an investigation and a search warrant executed at his residence and on his electronic devices.
Briggs was elected to lead the community in 2019 his term in office reportedly ends this year. The arrest and charges against him have shocked the town and residents are looking for answers.
The Allen County Sheriff’s Office has not yet released further details about the investigation or evidence leading to Mayor Briggs’ arrest.
He is currently being held without bond.
