CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — On Sunday, the Chillicothe Police Department was dispatched to a local gas station on a report of theft. Upon arrival, reports state, officers found that a store employee had apprehended a suspect who was accused of stealing two 30-packs of beer. The teen was taken into custody and a knife was found on their person.
According to the store employee, they observed two individuals with their faces covered in the store, and one of them took the beer and fled the store. Officers said the employee then tackled the suspect outside the store. The beer was recovered, but one of the packs had been damaged during the altercation.
The Chillicothe Police Department took photographs of the beer and the store’s computer system, which showed that it was past the state’s deadline for selling alcohol, making it impossible to produce a receipt for the incident. The suspect was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center and is facing charges in Juvenile Court.
