CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Jade Berry, a Chillicothe business owner, author, and public speaker, announced her 2023 campaign for mayor of the city, emphasizing her commitment to good leadership that recognizes issues and solutions without blaming.
According to Berry, public safety through first responder support and retention, city-wide economic development, and community engagement are at the top of her priority list.
“I am committed to the health and unity of our city, to being an advocate for those who protect and care for us, and to helping neighbors become allies. A community is only as strong as the support that holds it up,” said Berry.
A spokesperson said that Berry currently sits on several city boards, impacting the growth of Chillicothe. She was also named Chillicothe Ross Chamber of Commerce 2022 Young Professional of the Year.
In 2020, she began a free career development program, Life Ready, to benefit local youth and young adults. Berry has spent much of her public speaking career serving single mothers and encouraging community engagement.
She is a wife and mother of five children, whom she educated for the better part of their education.
Berry becomes the second candidate to officially announce their candidacy for mayor.
