FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ohio — A Georgia woman has been charged in the crash that left an Ohio trooper in serious condition.

Trooper Adrian E. Wilson of the Circleville Post, the patrol said, was seriously injured in a crash, on northbound Interstate 71, near state Route 665 in Grove City on Monday.   

Wilson had been outside his cruiser, removing debris from the road with emergency lights activated, when a 2021 Toyota RAV4 driven by Alea Weil of Marietta, Georgia struck the back of the cruiser, causing it to move forward and hit Wilson.   

He was transported to Grant Hospital in serious condition.  

Today, the patrol announced that Weil has been charged with aggravated vehicular assault and possession of drugs.   

She is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow.
