Brian Douglas Ballis, 63, of Piketon, Ohio passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe.
He was born June 15, 1959 in Waverly, Ohio to the late Floyd Ballis Jr. and Wilma Jean Smith Ballis who survives.
On August 11, 1984 he was united in marriage to Brenda Davis Ballis who survives. Also surviving are a son, Brenton (Chelsey) Ballis of Piketon; a daughter, Brooke (Michael) Burgett of Jackson; grandchildren, Caibree, Brynlee, Kinsley and Elliana; a brother, Mark (Lisa) Ballis of Evans, Georgia; a sister, Annette Ballis of Piketon; a sister-in-law, Rhonda (Gary) Everett of Jackson; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ronald and Shirlene Davis; and step-father-in-law, James Sherwood.
Brian was a truck driver most of his life and won several awards for driving. He was a member of the Elm Grove Church of Christ and he enjoyed singing in church. He liked gardening and outside activities. He was a big fan of the Cincinnati Reds and never missed a game on TV with his late grandmother, Minnie Scowden. Brian was a Poppy to four little girls who he adored. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and grandpa. He was loved very much and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly with Scott Judge, Minister officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
